Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation seeks an Architect III – Security Domain Architect to lead security architecture for enterprise applications, data platforms, APIs, cloud services, and AI initiatives. The role requires strong engineering background and governance focus to enable secure, scalable solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement architecture standards, threat modeling, and governance while aligning with regulatory requirements and business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years in information security with architecture leadership and at least 5 years hands-on engineering.
• Knowledge of financial services regulatory compliance obligations and industry standards.
• Experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, and software supply chain security.
• Data governance, DLP, and AI security governance experience.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert.

Responsibilities

• Lead information security architecture with focus on application, data, and AI security.
• Collaborate with engineering, information security, and business teams to drive standards and governance.
• Define and implement security controls, reference architectures, and design patterns.
• Provide guidance on threat modeling, risk assessment, and architecture trade-offs.
• Embed security into DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
