Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Engineer I to join the Security Data Intelligence team in Seattle. You will build and maintain scalable data pipelines powering security analytics, collaborating with ASE, BizOps, MapSec, and other security groups to ingest data and support analytical models.

You will learn the established architecture, create physical data models, and implement data solutions with secure, well-documented code.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience with one or more query language (SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
• Experience with one or more scripting language (Python, KornShell)

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply team-established data processing guidelines and best practices when building and testing pipelines.
• Understand the team's data architecture and build solutions within it, mapping to physical data models.
• Write secure, stable, testable code with clear documentation and thorough reviews.
• Build and maintain data pipeline infrastructure and apply basic database optimization techniques.
• Assist in on-call rotation and respond to pipeline incidents following runbooks and escalation procedures.
• Communicate progress and dependencies clearly to team leads and senior engineers.
