Job summary

The Hana Group is seeking a Control Center Operations Officer in Maryland to monitor alarms, video surveillance, and the 911 notification system. You will dispatch security personnel and coordinate with first responders to ensure rapid response and documented events.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, operating access control systems, and producing clear situation reports during crises, with a focus on accuracy and composure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a security control center/dispatch environment.
• Must possess a valid state Security Guard License and handgun permit as applicable.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• US citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current U.S. Armed Services members or honorable discharge holders.
• Possession of a valid Social Security Card issued by SSA.
• Ability to obtain favorable verification through the E-Verify system.
• Fluent in spoken, written, and comprehended English.
• Possession of a current State-issued Driver’s License or State ID.

Description

Control Center Operations Officer

The SCC personnel shall be responsible for monitoring and responding to automated alarm systems, monitoring and operating video surveillance systems, monitoring and operating the OSN 911 notification system, dispatching security personnel, contacting first responders, using notification matrix, and maintaining a key control box and log, an events log, and completing required documents.

Duties:

• Making sound decisions while communicating with other security personnel during crisis situations
• Observing situations analytically and objectively and recording them clearly and completely
• Reacting quickly and calmly in emergencies
• Communicating clearly and concisely and relaying details accurately
• Writing or providing oral situation reports regarding security related information
• Reporting potential threatening situations and violation of law and security procedures
• Handling situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and impartially
• Recalling numerous details and essential information
• Determining security priorities
• Operating radio, telephone, keyboard, computer terminal, and related communications equipment
• Creating and maintain manual and automated logs and other records
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products, (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Monitoring fire alarms and notify building management and maintenance personnel, as necessary
• Monitoring and operating electronic access control and video surveillance monitoring systems to detect security risks, threats or prohibited items
• Dispatching roving or mobile patrols, as necessary
• Coordinating the receipt, issuance and tracking of keys, key cards, and temporary access proximity cards
• Utilizing mass notification and emergency response systems
• Making Public Announcements (PA) when required
• Operating the Electronic Security System interface SITUATOR Solution for electronic access control system for alarm monitoring, access control, and surveillance video monitoring
• Occasionally operating LENEL electronic access control system or any other system installed by SSA for alarm monitoring, access control
• Operating the SSA Physical Access Management (PAM) Visitor module
• Operating the Government Provided Radio Communications Dispatch Console
• Managing fire, police and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) response

Requirements

• Each new SCC operator must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a security control center/dispatch environment
• Must possess a valid state Security Guard License and Handgun Permit as applicable
• Minimum age requirement: 21 years
• US citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current members of the U.S. Armed Services or individuals with an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Military
• Possession of an approved Social Security Card issued by SSA
• Ability to obtain favorable verification through the E-Verify system
• Fluent in spoken, written, and comprehended English
• Possession of a current State-issued Driver’s License or State ID
