Job summary

GHD is a global professional services company seeking a security consultant to lead multi-disciplinary projects from concept through closeout, delivering high-quality security solutions for clients locally and globally.

You’ll collaborate with architectural and engineering teams to develop construction drawings, specs, and cost estimates, while applying HSE practices and standards to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent combination considered.
• Autodesk Revit proficiency; 5+ years preferred
• ASIS PSP required (CPP a plus)
• Software House C-Cure 9000 Applications Engineer/Consultant training completed
• 5-10 years of security consulting experience
• Experience with ATFP and CPTED
• Expert knowledge of access control, cameras, NVR, video analytics, network, PLC, and intercom systems
• Strong project management skills; multi-disciplinary projects on time and within budget
• Knowledge of state and national building and energy codes a plus
• Excellent written and spoken communication; client-facing engagement
• DoD and civilian agencies project experience a plus
• BST project management tools knowledge a plus
• Limited travel outside Washington DC area may be necessary

Responsibilities

• Client & Customer Management (External): Manage client and customer relationships using relevant systems.
• Community of Practice Management: Participate in a defined area of expertise to build own knowledge.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Research using primary data sources to extract key themes and trends.
• Engineering Inspections: Inspect engineering works; recommend remedial actions for conformance with specs and regulations.
• Engineering Solutions Design: Support feasibility testing and provide design feedback.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow HSE policies; mentor team in safe working methods.
• Knowledge Management System: Help others maximize use of knowledge management systems.
• Project Management: Work within a project management plan to achieve goals.
• RFP/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather info, draft standardized proposals, meet deadlines.
• Testing: Design test procedures from product specs.
