Job summary

GHD is seeking a securities-focused engineer in Baltimore to drive construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project closeout across multi-discipline teams. You will engage with stakeholders regionally and support bid and tender responses, delivering compliant designs.

Qualifications include a B.E./related field, Revit proficiency, ASIS PSP/CPP, and 5–10 years in security consulting with ATFP/CPTED knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Autodesk Revit proficiency with 5+ years preferred.
• ASIS PSP certification required or obtainable within 6 months; CPP a plus.
• 5-10 years of security consulting experience; knowledge of ATFP/CPTED.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architectural and engineering teams to develop construction drawings, specs and cost estimates.
• Manage multi-discipline projects and engage with stakeholders across regions.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with architectural and engineering teams to develop construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates from conceptual design through construction documents, construction administration, and project closeout. Responsibilities

• Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
• Community of Practice Management: Participate in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to begin to build own expertise.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
• Engineering Inspections: Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization’s health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well‑being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
• Knowledge Management System: Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
• Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
• Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather information and resources, draft and complete standardized proposals, and fulfill all process requirements (in terms of deadlines, documentation, etc.) in response to bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender to create the best chance of being awarded the contract.
• Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; proven equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
• Ability to work independently in Autodesk Revit required, 5+ Years experience a plus
• ASIS PSP Required (or ability to obtain it within 6 months); ASIS CPP a plus
• Completed the Software House C-Cure 9000 Applications Engineer/Consultant training
• 5-10 years of relevant security consulting experience
• Experience with ATFP and CPTED
• Expert knowledge of industry leading access control, camera, NVR, video analytics, network, PLC, and intercom systems
• Strong project management skills, managing discipline specific and multi‑disciplinary projects on time and within budget, while exceeding client expectations
• Working knowledge of state and national building and energy codes and standards a plus
• Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, including client facing engagement, working well within team structures, and a proven ability to develop, mentor and collaborate with technical teammates.
• Federal Government DoD and civilian agencies’ project and client experience a plus
• Understanding of project management software tools; BST experience a plus
• Limited travel outside of the Washington D.C. area is anticipated, but may be deemed necessary by project

Salary Range

$88,700 - $147,900 based on experience and location.
