Job summary

Scale Computing seeks a Director of Security and Compliance to own the company’s security program end to end from Austin, TX. You will define objectives for the Compliance and Security Operations function and oversee risk, audits, and certifications (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001) across Scale and its managed‑services customers.

You will lead policy, incident response, vendor risk, and AI governance, partnering with Legal and the executive team to ensure timely decisions and measurable security

Qualifications

• 10+ years in information security with 5+ years leading teams.
• Proven knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
• Experience maintaining a risk register and presenting to executives.
• Experience leading incident response as the accountable lead.
• Experience using AI tooling in leadership context and assessing risks.

Responsibilities

• Own the security and compliance strategy and set objectives for the team.
• Manage PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 scope, audits, and remediation.
• Define shared-responsibility model with managed-service customers and contracts.
• Maintain enterprise security risk register and executive risk reporting.
• Own security policy, standards, and exception processes.
• Lead incident response and coordinate notifications with Legal.
• Oversee third-party/vendor risk reviews and security assessments.
• Oversee customer security assurance and security questionnaires.
• Provide AI governance for security and data-handling policies.
• Report posture to executive team and board using metrics.
• Develop leadership bench and succession plan.
