Vertical Relevance is seeking an AWS Security & Compliance Consultant to join our remote team as a full-time employee. The role involves end-to-end planning, building, and deploying software systems, with a focus on driving well-constructed, testable code.

As an AWS Security & Compliance Consultant, you will implement technical solutions for customer engagements, requiring strong teamwork, communication, patience, and organizational skills. Responsibilities

1. Guide customers in their cloud adoption journey, providing technical and strategic guidance.
2. Consult, plan, design, and implement security solutions on AWS, including automation and compliance strategies.
3. Develop technical content such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers.
4. Support solution development by conveying customer needs and feedback, assisting with technical briefs and reference architectures.
5. Contribute to brand development through thought leadership, including blog posts and case studies.

Qualifications

• Experience in architecting and operating automated Security & Compliance solutions on AWS, with customer-facing experience.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53, CIS standards.
• Proficiency with policy-as-code frameworks like OPA.
• Experience with compliance-as-code strategies and custom controls.
• Audit-readiness, evidence collection, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with Agile project management.

Sample Activities

Self-Service Account Framework

• Design organizational hierarchy and configuration templates for customers.
• Develop reference playbooks and sample runbooks for AWS account setup and configuration automation.
• Create automated pipelines for establishing AWS accounts with secure, tested infrastructure.

Security Threat Analytics & Dashboard Solutions

• Create frameworks for security event data analysis in AWS.
• Leverage AWS security services like Macie, GuardDuty, Inspector, Security Hub, and others.
• Automate security analytics and reporting workflows using AWS services.

Self-Service Compliance Framework

• Select tools and develop reference playbooks for Policy-as-Code controls.
• Create runbooks to automate controls implementation, including policy definition and compliance assertions.

Technical Tools & AWS Services

• Languages: Python, Java, Bash
• Tools & Services: Jenkins, Gitlab, Terraform, Vault, Git, Splunk, and various AWS services (e.g., CloudFormation, Lambda, S3, EC2, VPC, IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Macie, etc.)
