Job summary

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI), seeks a Communication Tech 2 in Cherokee, IA. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., supporting security, telecommunication, and audiovisual systems across CMHI and CCUSO.

Responsibilities include developing, implementing and maintaining security and intercom systems, radios, paging, alarms, patient networks, and AV equipment. Background checks are required during consideration.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time work experience in telecommunication/radio system design, installation, or service.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain security equipment, analog phone systems, intercom systems, and interfaces between these systems at CMHI and CCUSO.
• Manage two-way radio equipment, overhead paging systems, patient emergency alarm systems, patient networks, audio-visual equipment, and other electronics such as TVs, DVD players, AM/FM radios, CD players, and video game systems.
• Applicants will be required to complete a background check.
