Job summary

TAP Engineering in Columbia, MD is seeking Software Engineers at all levels to join a small, highly technical team focusing on design and testing of advanced hardware devices. You will develop and execute test cases to validate system performance and contribute to software design decisions across HW/SW trade-offs.

The role requires active TS/SCI with polygraph, a BS in CS or related field, and experience in software testing and programming in multiple languages.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (CCA eligible candidates considered)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience performing software testing (unit/system) and debugging
• Understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, TCP/IP)
• Experience with C, C++, C#, Python, Java or comparable languages
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test cases against operational requirements to validate system performance across deployment scenarios
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results
• Apply software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
• Contribute to software component design, including hardware/software trade-offs and tool integration
