Job summary

J&T Business Consulting in Laurel, MD is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph to design, prototype, and enhance compliance analytics in a secure R&D setting.

You will implement automated tools and ML models, building data-driven pipelines using Python, Java, Scala, Lucene, JEXL, SQL, and JSON, while collaborating with Jira/Confluence and Git platforms in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related plus 14 years of software engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity, OR 18 years of relevant software engineering experience without a degree.
• Advanced development using Python, Java, and/or Scala in Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with Scikit‑learn, Random Forest modeling, feature engineering, Jupyter Notebooks, Lucene, JEXL, SQL, JSON, and MapReduce distributed frameworks.
• Proficiency with IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse), version control (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket), and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Familiarity with customer compliance authorities, enterprise corporate systems, and governance standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and maintain compliance automation tools and analytics.
• Implement, test, and validate ML/AI algorithms in an R&D environment.
• Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and feature engineering on complex datasets.
• Build, deploy, and monitor ML models, data flows, and performance telemetry.
• Integrate distributed MapReduce processing workflows with backend data pipelines.
• Develop full-stack and analytical software using Python, Java, Scala, Lucene, JEXL, SQL, and JSON in Linux.
• Collaborate using Jira, Confluence, Git/GitLab, and Bitbucket, with thorough technical documentation.
