Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) in St. Inigoes, MD is hiring a Maintenance Trades Helper for the Composites Shop to support our engineering and production facilities.

The role focuses on product prep, assisting journeymen, and handling materials, tools, and shop housekeeping in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic shop experience, and the ability to read technical orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Trade school, college, or military training is highly desired.
• Knowledge of common hand and power tools.
• Minimum of two years of general shop experience with basic power tools.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to obtain overhead crane certification within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist workers in the skilled maintenance trades by supplying materials and tools and by cleaning work areas, equipment and machines.
• Assist journeymen by holding materials or tools and performing tasks as directed.
• Support product prep activities, especially in the chemical coating process.
• Read and comprehend job orders and technical documentation to ensure coatings are applied correctly.
• Maintain order tracking and communicate work status; prior coating experience is highly desired.
