Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Mid Database Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases supporting mission‑critical government systems. You will design schemas, optimize queries, and manage backups, DR tests, and upgrades across Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments.

In this role you will collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to minimize downtime, enforce encryption and RBAC, and support data warehousing and ETL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience.
• Proficiency with relational DB systems including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning.
• Strong analytical and teamwork skills supporting cross-functional collaboration.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer production and non-production DB instances including advanced schema design and partitioning.
• Design indexing, statistics, and query plans to optimize performance.
• Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies and tests.
• Enforce encryption, RBAC, and auditing for data security.
• Lead DB upgrades, patching, and cross-environment migrations.
• Support data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
