Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company seeks a Mid Database Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases in a highly regulated government environment. You will design structures, optimize performance, and coordinate with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.

The role requires 4–7 years of DBA experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, plus strong backup, DR, and security skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience with increasing ownership of production environments.
• Proficiency with relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including strong understanding of database structures, principles, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience with database security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills supporting cross‑functional collaboration in enterprise environments.
• Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance as required by the client.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel less than 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize production and non-production instances of Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Design and tune indexing, statistics, and query execution plans for high‑volume workloads.
• Develop and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies and lead recovery tests.
• Implement advanced security controls including encryption, RBAC, privileged accounts, and auditing.
• Lead database upgrades, patch cycles, and cross‑environment migrations to manage risk and downtime.
• Design and support ETL data integration across operational databases, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
• Perform capacity planning and storage management with growth forecasting and archival strategies.
• Troubleshoot incidents involving locking, deadlocks, and resource contention.
