Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a Mid-level Database Administrator to uphold the stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases supporting mission-critical systems in a regulated federal environment.

The role designs and refines database structures, indexing strategies, and capacity plans, coordinating with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to minimize downtime and ensure scalable data services across multiple applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience.
• Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL and strong understanding of database structures and best practices.
• Experience with database security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration tooling.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize production and non?production database instances (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) with advanced schema design and environment-specific configuration.
• Design and tune indexing, statistics, and query execution plans to resolve performance bottlenecks for high-volume workloads.
• Develop and execute robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies and lead periodic recovery tests.
• Implement and review advanced security controls including encryption, RBAC, privileged accounts, and auditing.
