Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced CommVault Data Protection Engineer to design, implement, and support backup and recovery solutions for a large-scale federal government enterprise. The role involves configuring complex backup ecosystems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring security updates align with federal requirements.

You will work with WAN/LAN networks and diverse server platforms (Windows, Linux, SQL) and contribute to capacity planning, reporting, and enterprise storage strategies.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Commvault data protection application.
• Experience with LAN/WAN and Windows/Linux servers.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and applying them to Commvault systems.
• CommVault Certified Engineer is a plus, working knowledge of SAN/Cloud storage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, implement and support backup and recovery solutions for a large-scale federal government environment.
• Create and maintain optimal backup, restore and redundancy strategies for critical data.
• Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery issues across network, server, and storage layers.
• Provide analytics, capacity planning and reporting for backup infrastructure.
• Apply regular security updates and patches per Federal requirements.
