Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced CommVault Systems Engineer (Data Protection / Backup) to design, deploy, and support backup solutions for a large-scale federal government environment. The role requires extensive hands-on work with Commvault and related storage technologies.

Responsibilities include planning, testing, troubleshooting, and providing analytics and capacity planning, with emphasis on security updates and cross-team collaboration to meet critical data protection needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with Commvault data protection application.
• Knowledge of WAN, Windows Servers, Linux, and SQL.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and patching.
• Experience in federal government environments is a plus.
• Ability to design, implement, test and support backup solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support complex backup and recovery solutions.
• Provide analytics, capacity planning, and reporting for backup systems.
• Apply regular security updates and patches following federal requirements.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure timely backup, restore and replication.
• Troubleshoot advanced backup/recovery issues across multiple platforms.
