Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Security Background Investigator to support FBI-related investigations. The role involves reviewing background questionnaires, conducting investigations, and preparing detailed analyses and recommendations to determine suitability for security clearances.

Position requires obtaining/maintaining a Top-Secret clearance, extensive investigative experience, and strong written/oral communication skills. Office-based role in a traditional environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret US Government Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree with seven years’ experience or Associate’s Degree with nine years’ experience in personnel security or investigative field.
• Experience interpreting governmental and commercial database checks.

Responsibilities

• Review questionnaires (SF-86 and SF-85P) and verify information submitted on applications.
• Conduct PSIs and preliminary/final reviews of background investigations.
• Prepare detailed analyses and recommendations for adjudication and further inquiry.
• Draft summary sheets and identify adverse information for investigation.
