Job summary

Amentum in the United States is seeking a Security Investigator to support FBI Security Program investigations, including background checks and suitability determinations. This role involves reviewing FBI files, extracting relevant data, and providing adjudication recommendations.

You will train junior specialists, coordinate with FBI divisions, and develop detailed case analyses to determine clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret US Government Clearance. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 15 years of federal law enforcement experience or 17 years in the personnel security investigative or investigative analyst field. Alternative: Associate’s degree with 17 years of experience in federal law enforcement or 19 years in the personnel security investigative or investigative analyst field.
• Technical training/certification as an investigator and/or adjudicator is required.

Responsibilities

• Support FBI Security Program investigations and background checks.
• Prepare summaries and correlate data to assess security risks.
• Provide training and guidance to junior specialists.
• Coordinate with FBI divisions on foreign nexus to inform adjudication.
• Recommend security clearance determinations and polygraph actions.
