Job summary

Amentum is seeking a skilled security professional in Washington, DC to support personnel security investigations, including background checks, reinvestigations, and clearance determinations. You will review forms, gather data, prepare BI reports, and assist in adjudication recommendations, contributing to national security.

This is a security‑critical, office‑based role. Qualifications include a Top-Secret clearance, a relevant degree with years of experience, and strong MS Office and research

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain Top-Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years’ experience OR Associate’s degree with 9+ years’ experience in the personnel security investigative or investigative analyst field.
• Experience interpreting Governmental and commercial database checks to identify areas of concern during the investigative process.
• Experience analyzing investigative reports and other sources to identify security vulnerabilities; to develop investigative leads; to propose approval/ denial/ revocation decisions.
• Proficient computer skills: MS Office, internet research, and federal IT systems; knowledge of database systems.

Responsibilities

• Review SF-86 and SF-85P questionnaires and verify information.
• Contact subjects to complete background investigation forms and input data from MAC applications.
• Prepare BI reports and summary sheets; draft evaluation notes for adverse information.
• Conduct security briefings and advise on adjudication readiness; prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
• Perform investigations and input data; assist in recommended lines of inquiry for follow-up.
