Job summary

Alvarado Street Brewery in Salinas seeks a vigilant security professional to maintain guest safety and order at our Castroville production facility and tasting room. This hourly role requires weekend availability and a calm, professional demeanor during busy periods.

Responsibilities include monitoring patron behavior,Providing early warnings for sketchy activity, removing disruptive individuals, and coordinating with management and local authorities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Valid State Security Guard Card License.
• Ability to maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and listening.
• A desire to help where needed and work as part of a team.
• Passion for providing extraordinary service.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patron behavior and level of intoxication.
• Identify and provide early warning for sketchy behavior.
• Use eye contact and body language to let troublesome patrons know that their conduct is reaching the threshold for unacceptable behavior.
• Warn patrons who are exhibiting objectionable behavior with a well-timed and discreet comment to resolve objectionable behavior in early stages.
• Remove obnoxious and offensive persons.
• Maintain professionalism at all times and especially when asking patrons to leave.
• Use force only in self-defense or detention for police.
• Calls the police to enforce criminal acts, as required.
• In collaboration with the Manager, control over-crowding and restaurant intensity.
• Under the direction of and in collaboration with the General Manager, writes up incident reports for record-keeping purposes.
• Resolves conflicts and restrains anyone who gets into a fight, takes care of patrons' welfare
• Resolve guest problems whenever possible and direct communication with manager
• Reporting pressing security-related matters to the General Manager and local authorities as needed.
• Other various tasks as assigned

OVERALL

This key position is responsible for maintaining orderliness and ensuring the safety of our guests and staff. by proactively observing and warding off any unruly behavior. PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

ABOUT ALVARADO STREET BREWERY

Alvarado Street Brewery was founded by father-son duo John and J.C. Hill in March of 2014. What started as a neighborhood brewery restaurant in Downtown Monterey has evolved into four locations dedicated to serving Monterey county’s locals and visitors alike. Our production brewery & tasting room opened in the Spreckels Junction area of Salinas in 2016. In early 2018 we opened our R&D pilot brewery and bistro in Carmel-by-the-Sea, known as the “Stro”. Most recently in November of 2022, we opened Alvarado Street Brewery & Taproom, an art deco styled restaurant and bar in the center of Oldtown Salinas.
