Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IP-based security camera systems across multiple sites.
• Run and terminate cabling (Ethernet, coaxial) for camera systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues with NVRs, PoE switches, and individual cameras.
• Ensure all camera feeds are optimized for quality, coverage, and storage.
• Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure camera systems integrate with internal networks securely.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability.
• Provide training and documentation to site managers on basic operation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate logs of installations, configurations, and service calls.
• Travel frequently to Jax Kar Wash locations across multiple states (company vehicle or reimbursement provided).
• Respond promptly to urgent repair needs or service outages.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in security systems, electronics, or IT preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining surveillance systems (IP/NVR-based preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of camera types, wiring standards, PoE networking, and basic IP configuration.
• Comfortable using power tools, ladders, and basic hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, site blueprints, and network schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to travel frequently, including overnights and out-of-state trips.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a variety of indoor/outdoor environment

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, often at operational car wash locations.
• It requires climbing ladders, working in elevated or tight spaces, and exposure to weather conditions.
• Use of power tools and electronic equipment is frequent.
• Travel required 70–90% of the time based on installation and service needs.
