Job summary

The New York Times Company seeks an analyst focused on promoting security and technology awareness across our newsroom, engineering, and business teams. The role designs training and communications to foster a company-wide security culture and hands-on guidance for staff.

Based in New York City, this hybrid position requires regular in-person office visits, hosting group sessions, and 1:1 briefings. You will report to the Manager, Information Security and collaborate across enterprise technology.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience training on information security topics (phishing, account security, data security, secure communications).
• Familiarity with basic cybersecurity concepts, including social engineering, procedures, and threat models.

Responsibilities

• Lead personal and group security and technology education sessions.
• Coordinate workshops and training projects on information security topics.
• Deliver hands-on security guidance and 1:1 briefings for staff, including newsroom.
• Craft and distribute routine security updates with corporate communications.
• Produce instructional resources: user guides, manuals, video content, online modules.
• Support user requests and participate in on-call rotations for security inquiries.
• Design internal phishing simulation campaigns and remediation programs.
• Schedule and track training projects across bureaus and offices.
• Report on security engagement metrics and refine support strategies.
• Travel to multiple bureaus; approx. 10% annually. Report to Manager, Information Security.
