Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift in the Security department.
  • Supports, administers and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profitobjectives.
  • Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager any scheduling concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction.
  • May be responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations; supportscompliance with departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance withdepartment and company standards and programs.
  • Ensures customer service standards are followed by all teammembers and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Serves as the Security Manager on duty in the absence of the Security Shift Manager.
  • Enforce internal control policies and procedures including but not limited to; underage gambling and drinking laws.
  • Maintain safety and inspections reports for the property.
  • Conduct regular security post inspections.
  • Prepare security incident reports and maintain security logs.
  • Respond to guests and employees’ concerns and complaints and solve their problems with professionalism and compassion.
  • Ensure security officers adhere to uniform dress and grooming standards consistent with department and company standards.
  • Interact and cooperate with regulatory, fire/rescue and law enforcement agencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within the department and delivers constructive feedback to employees regardingperformance.
  • Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning anddirecting work) to meet business needs.
  • Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Provides recommendation for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling).
Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.; or three years of casino Security, military, or police experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
  • Must obtain a First Aid/AED certification. Must successfully complete C.A.R.E. or TIPS training.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gaming’s auto insurance carrier.
