Security Agent-Part time

The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for part time, Security Agent to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.

The role of the Security Agent is perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Typical duties include:

• To conduct patrols of entire facility to ensure the safest environment possible for all guests, patrons, visitors, employees, etc.
• Write incident and accident reports
• Participate in security investigations as required by management
• Processing of items lost by guests, employees and visitors within the facility
• Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests, e.g., assisting with door lock problems, coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
• Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, employees, patrons and property.
• Memorize and monitor life safety system installed at property including layout of entire building, alarm pull stations, location of fire extinguisher and sprinklers.
• Escort guests and employees as required to parking lots, provide same for employees carrying house banks.

• Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information.
• Must be able to communicate in a professional manner and respond with timeliness.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift.
• Previous security experience preferably in a hotel environment.
• High School Diploma required.
