Job summary

Tufts Technology Services (TTS) seeks an experienced High Performance Computing Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure HPC systems for research computing. You will integrate services with Open OnDemand, Jupyter Notebooks, and RStudio, and provide guidance across RT and TTS teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering field.
• 8+ years of related experience in higher education, research, scientific or technical computing environment.
• Understanding of HPC architectures, subsystems, and networking concepts.
• Experience with schedulers (Slurm) and containers (Singularity/Docker).
• Scripting experience (Shell, Python, Perl).
• Familiarity with OpenOnDemand and web gateways.
• Knowledge of ML libraries and GPU-accelerated stacks.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy secure, compliant HPC services within the research computing ecosystem.
• Integrate new services into Open OnDemand, Jupyter Notebooks, and RStudio.
• Install, maintain, and test open source and commercial software for new HPC services.
• Document work and provide regular progress updates; collaborate with RT and TTS teams.
• Respond to outages, emergencies, or urgent issues as needed.
• Collaborate on system administration and research computing community outreach.
