Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Medical Record Specialist to process and maintain physical and electronic records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. This role includes scanning, quality review, and release of information in line with licensing requirements, aiding efficient access for persons served.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 9-5, with benefits starting on day one, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 403B, PTO, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pre-employment drug screening, Act 33/34/73 clearances.

Responsibilities

• Protects the security of medical records and ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
• Communicate effectively with persons served as well with both internal and external partners.
• Prepares correspondence to health care providers upon consent from the person served.
• Ability to identify and distinguish various types of medical record documents received from internal and external sources.
• Validates request and authorizations for release of medical information according to established procedures.
• Assist with program audits as needed.
