Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Software Engineer for the Enterprise Middleware and Online Security Technology team in Austin. You will design, develop, and support secure authentication solutions for enterprise web apps, including Passwordless Login and Risk-Based Authentication.

You will work with product, security, fraud, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable identity solutions while leveraging AI-assisted tooling and modern architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with JavaScript.
• Familiar with Spring Boot and service-based architectures.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Karma, Cucumber, or similar tools.
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or comparable databases.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and software quality tools.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of OAuth, SAML, JWT, and modern authentication technologies.
• Experience using AI coding assistants.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise web applications and authentication services.
• Build secure authentication experiences, including Passwordless Login and Risk-Based Authentication.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and microservices using modern architecture patterns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, estimate effort, and deliver features on schedule.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, automated testing, security, and CI/CD practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a strong sense of ownership.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring team members.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Validate AI-generated code and recommendations to ensure security, quality, and maintainability.
