Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Embedded Security Engineer for Starlink to design and implement security features across satellites, ground systems, and user terminals. You will architect cryptographic services, secure boot, and platform security for the router, dish, gateways, and satellites, ensuring a robust security posture from ground to space.

The role requires strong software development in Python, C++, or Golang, with a focus on security for operating systems and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or STEM, or 2+ years of security software development experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang.
• Experience designing security for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems, including router, dish, gateways, and satellites.
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this.
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via implementation and guidance to other teams.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
• Advance mission to provide secure, reliable Internet to underserved communities.
