Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Embedded Security Engineer for Starlink to influence the security of software across Starlink products. You will design security features, cryptographic services, and secure boot mechanisms for routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites, while collaborating with multiple engineering teams.

The role requires building secure systems, evaluating threats, and contributing to a robust security posture in a fast-paced, interplanetary-scale environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or STEM or 2+ years of security software development experience
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services
• Develop security features for Starlink systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites)
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services to support this
• Maintain production systems and improve security posture via implementation and recommendations
• Build prototypes and test security improvements
• Help provide secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities
