Job summary

Viasat is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Secure Network Systems team. You will design and implement embedded software for encrypted communications, interfacing with system, test and hardware engineers in a fast-paced environment.

You will work on Layer 2/3 in-line network encryptors, kernel driver development, and Python tooling. A US security clearance and travel up to 10% are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of embedded software design and implementation experience.
• Linux experience, including embedded environments.
• US citizenship with an active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ and Rust.
• Use Linux OS in an embedded environment.
• Configure TCP/IP and network settings for embedded systems.
• Develop and modify Linux kernel drivers.
• Participate in Agile Scrum teams and CI/CD workflows.
