Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Document Destruction Technician to securely manage the destruction of classified and sensitive documents, maintaining meticulous records and ensuring compliance with chain-of-custody protocols. The role supports material control and collaborates with security and facility personnel to safeguard sensitive materials.

The ideal candidate has TS/SCI w/Poly clearance, a high school diploma, and 3+ years in materials management or warehousing.

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/Poly clearance required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in materials management, warehousing, or production planning.
  • Knowledge of materials management, MR P systems, and inventory control.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and production schedules to determine raw material needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination within teams and across departments.
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision and solve moderately complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, log, and track materials scheduled for destruction.
  • Operate destruction equipment per agency-approved methods.
  • Maintain chain-of-custody records and destruction logs.
  • Follow destruction schedules, internal controls, and safety protocols.
  • Support audits and security inspections related to destruction.
  • Safely store and transport materials in restricted areas or SCIFs.
  • Coordinate with FSOs, Material Managers, and Security Representatives.
  • Train and mentor new personnel on secure handling and destruction.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation, packaging, labeling, and classified media disposition.
