Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Document Destruction Technician in Chantilly to securely handle, track, and destroy classified documents in line with regulations. The role emphasizes meticulous records, equipment operation, and adherence to chain-of-custody protocols.

Responsibilities include operating shredders and disintegrators, maintaining destruction logs, and coordinating with FSOs and security teams to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in materials management, warehousing, or production planning.
• Experience with Materials Management Systems and MRP
• Ability to interpret engineering specs and production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, log, and track classified and sensitive materials scheduled for destruction.
• Operate specialized destruction equipment per agency-approved methods and standards.
• Maintain accurate chain-of-custody records and destruction logs.
• Follow and enforce destruction schedules, internal controls, and safety protocols.
• Support audits, security inspections, and material control reviews.
• Safely store and transport materials within restricted areas or SCIFs.
• Coordinate with FSOs, Material Managers, and Security Representatives to ensure compliance.
• Train and mentor new personnel on secure material handling and destruction procedures.
• Assist with material control tasks such as inventory reconciliation, packaging, labeling, and classified media disposition.
