Job summary

Johns Hopkins APL seeks a Classified Destruction Coordinator to safeguard and destroy classified materials per NSA EPL and 32 CFR requirements. You will manage destruction processes, operate dedicated equipment, and coordinate with multiple campus locations.

You will also ensure accurate records, support CMC personnel, and coordinate courier and transport tasks while maintaining strict security standards and documentation. This role requires a Secret clearance with future Top Secret eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least three years of industrial security-related experience.
  • Understanding of 32 CFR regulations as they pertain to safeguarding classified information.
  • Experience with SF-701 & SF-702 forms.
  • Experience operating DAA alarm systems and X10/X11 locks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 30–60 lbs and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Primary Collection Point and Destruction SME for destruction of classified documents and media.
  • Operate NSA EPL shredders, degaussers, and destruction devices on a daily basis.
  • Approve shredder purchases to ensure NSA EPL compliance.
  • Maintain an active listing of all shredding devices on campus.
  • Perform daily destruction pickups for required sectors and departments.
  • Data entry using Service-Now, MDRS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Resolve discrepancies and respond to inquiries about Classified Destruction Material and RODes.
  • Support CMC personnel at Main Campus and MP6 locations.
  • Transport classified documents using APL vehicles and provide courier services.
  • Maintain destruction records and issue receipts for media received/destroyed.
