Job summary

HID Global in Austin, TX is seeking a Credentials Engineer to drive credential product design from materials science to manufacturability. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and production‑ready solutions, spanning lamination, adhesion, and thermal interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with polymer-based materials (PC, PVC, PET) preferred.
• Strong understanding of material behavior under thermal and pressure conditions.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPI opportunities and share with Global teams.
• Develop credential constructions including materials, layer stack-ups, and physical architecture.
• Ensure designs meet security, functional, and durability requirements.
• Define manufacturing feasibility and process constraints (lamination, adhesion, thermal interaction).
• Develop and execute validation plans and testing methods for new designs.
