Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Engineer or Principal Network Engineer in Melbourne, FL to design, plan, and implement secure IP-based networks for mission-critical aircraft. You will deliver architecture schematics, hardware/software specs, and capacity forecasts while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires hands-on testing, verification, and knowledge of routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP), VPNs, and security standards, with potential for SAP clearance and travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of related experience or Master’s with relevant experience.
• Active US Government Secret or higher clearance (background investigation within 6 years).
• Experience with hardware/software subsystem requirements analysis and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Define functional and physical architecture; create design drawings.
• Involve in test/verification; create verification matrices and oversee testing.
• Collaborate across functions and with suppliers.
• Configure/troubleshoot network devices; Cisco IOS‑XE required.
• Work with IP4 design, including BGP/OSPF/EIGRP routing.
