Job summary

AbbVie in the United States is seeking a Section Manager for Maintenance and Engineering Services to oversee administrative duties, personnel management, training programs, and project leadership within the department.

The role requires strong problem solving, a technical degree, and 5+ years in manufacturing/engineering/maintenance. You will manage budgets, KPIs, and compliance with cGMP, OSHA PSM and EPA RMP standards.

Qualifications

• College Degree or equivalent experience. Strong problem solving and analysis skills are required. A technical degree (Engineering or Science) is preferred.
• At least 5+ years of prior experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities Management, or an equivalent Technical Field is required. Prior supervision experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day activities of exempt and nonexempt technical personnel and provides leadership for the organization.
• Manages Talent Management System: goals, growth plans, performance feedback, and assessments for direct reports.
• Develops and maintains department training curriculums; ensures required training is completed for compliance.
• Maintains adherence to cGMP requirements for the department.
• Supports department manager in budgeting and monthly financial tracking; develops KPIs and drives improvements.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP rules, Mechanical Integrity programs and related regulations.
• Serves as project manager for department initiatives and capital projects, defining budget, scope and schedule.
• Communicates leadership messages and organizational changes within the department; acts as conduit for feedback to area management.
• Represents the organization to internal and external customers to ensure communication and customer focus.
• Creates a safety culture by directing actions to reduce injuries and protect equipment and products.
