What We’re Seeking: DATCP’s Division of Food and Recreational Safety is recruiting for a Section Manager (Dairy Services Section) in the Bureau of Food & Recreational Businesses.
Where We’re Located: The Prairie Oaks State Office Building is situated on Madison’s southeast side. We are only minutes away from the Beltline Highway, Interstate 90 and Highway 51 for quick access to local restaurants, retail and service locations.
Telecommuting Option: This position may have the ability to telecommute up to 6 days per 2-week pay period! An approved telecommuting agreement is required before an employee may telecommute. Approval of the employee’s telecommuting agreement and work schedule will vary based on the operational needs of the Division. All DATCP employees who telecommute are required to work in Wisconsin.

Position Summary
Operating under general supervision, this professional supervisory position serves as principal resource to management on dairy program business inspectional and technical matters. Duties include: development and delivery of inspectional and technical oversight for the Division's Dairy Program; dairy products processing inspection; Dairy farm inspection; bulk milk weigher/sampler and tanker inspection; milk and water laboratory evaluation program; Grade A program evaluation; dairy products technology and technical support; dairy sampling programs; and performs a range of strategic planning to best evaluate and direct state programs.

Salary Information
The classification for this position is Chief, Regulatory and Technical Services which is in schedule-range 81-02 with starting pay will be between $44.50-48.50 per hour based on qualifications. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. A 24-month probationary period is required.
Job Details
DATCP does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.
A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment.
Regular in-state travel of approximately 20% of the time with occasional overnight stays, is required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver’s license or the ability to provide one’s own transportation for work purposes is required.
