Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks a Section Head for the Research and Operations Integration Section within the Radioisotope Science and Technology Division. You will oversee two groups that optimize facilities, schedules, and material accountability, while ensuring compliance with SBMS and ESH&Q standards in a high-hazard environment.

The role requires leading diverse teams of scientists and engineers, shaping division research plans, and coordinating with program management to advance

Qualifications

• BS in Nuclear Engineering or related field with 12 years' experience, or MS with 10 years, or PhD with 7 years.
• Strong leadership and line management experience in a complex research/operations environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to obtain DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement the research and operations integration systems for the Division.
• Oversee two groups: Process Coordination and Project Integration & Material Accountability.
• Coordinate with division directors to ensure seamless matrix support and resource allocation.
• Mentor staff, manage performance, and ensure SBMS/IOP compliance.
• Support ES&H initiatives, continuous improvement, and performance improvements.
