Job summary

UT-Battelle, LLC, manages ORNL and is seeking a Section Head for the Research and Operations Integration Section within the Radioisotope Science and Technology Division. The role directs interfaces between research and operations to mature large-scale radiochemical processing and ensure safe, compliant use of division resources.

Qualifications

• BS in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant technical field with 12+ years in a complex environment.
• MS with 10+ years; PhD with 7+ years in a related field.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Experience in regulated facilities or DOE-like environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement the research and operations integration systems for the Division.
• Coordinate with Division Directors and Program Managers to enable matrix support.
• Oversee a team of scientists and engineers ensuring compliant use of resources.
• Identify areas for process improvements and provide viable solutions.
• Contribute to shaping the Division’s research plans and investments.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise Group Leaders to foster leadership.
