Overview

The Department of Surgery is seeking an experienced surgical oncologist to lead the Surgical Oncology Program. The candidate will serve as Section Chief and Surgical Director, contributing to programmatic development, research, and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Surgical Oncology Program and the Georgia Cancer Center.
• Participate in and design research studies.
• Teach and supervise general surgery residents.
• Promote a patient‑centered, customer‑friendly environment for patients, students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a surgical oncology fellowship.
• Board Certified in General Surgery with additional fellowship training in Surgical Oncology.
• Minimum of seven years of clinical experience.
• Experience in programmatic development and academic leadership.
• Business and administrative skills (Surgical Director duties).

Faculty Employment Requirements

• Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
