Augusta University’s Department of Surgery seeks a full-time Section Chief at the Professor level to lead the Surgical Oncology Program in Augusta, Georgia. The appointee will also serve as Surgical Director of the Georgia Cancer Center and oversee program development, education of residents, and collaborative research.
Preference is given to candidates with Breast, Soft Tissue, Melanoma, or GI Oncology interests, and candidates must be board-certified in General Surgery with Surgical Oncology
The Department of Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a full‑time faculty member to serve as Section Chief at the rank of Professor and lead the Surgical Oncology Program in Augusta, Georgia. The candidate will also hold the administrative post of Surgical Director of the Georgia Cancer Center. Preference is given to candidates with training or special interest in Breast, Soft Tissue and Melanoma or GI Oncology. The position allows participation in research studies and collaboration with general surgery residents. This position is not on a tenure track.
MD, DO, or equivalent. Successful completion of a surgical oncology fellowship. Board‑Certified in General Surgery with additional fellowship training in Surgical Oncology and demonstrated success in programmatic development. Minimum seven years of experience.
Participate in research studies.
Work with general surgery residents.
Certified in Complex General Surgical Oncology and Academic Medical Teaching.
