Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Allen Hospital in Upper Manhattan is seeking a Section Chief Laboratory Technologist for the evening shift (4:00 pm - 12:00 am). This full-time role covers Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank, with responsibilities leading other Technologists and ensuring quality control.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, NY licensure, and preferably ASCP certification in Blood Bank, coagulation, and urinalysis; 4 years lab experience (or 2 years with

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required.
• ASCP certification in Blood Bank, coagulation and urinalysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex tests as a Generalist covering Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank.
• Perform assays on clinical specimens in all areas of the laboratory including Urinalysis, Blood Gases, and Coagulation, while leading other Laboratory Technologists.
• Troubleshoot instruments and methods.
• Perform all quality control procedures and assist in the evaluation of new equipment, reagents and methodologies.
• Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation.
• Research and establish new procedures to improve laboratory operations.

Preferred Criteria ASCP certification Blood Bank, coagulation and urinalysis experience strongly preferred Required Criteria Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum unless credentials are grandfathered in as life experience New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department Salary Range: $61.40-$70.55/Hourly It all begins with you.
