Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Buffalo, NY seeks a Section Chief for Hospice and Palliative Care Service to oversee staffing, patient care delivery, and service criteria across the VA Health Care System.

You will mentor residents and fellows, coordinate with academic affiliates, lead clinical improvement initiatives, and provide inpatient consults and end-of-life care while ensuring high quality, compassionate care for veterans.

Qualifications

• Must hold an MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license to practice in the U.S.
• Residency training in an accredited core specialty (ACGME/AOA).

Responsibilities

• Oversee Hospice and Palliative Care Service operations.
• Supervise inpatient consult service and end-of-life care.
• Provide clinical and program leadership, quality improvement.
• Mentor residents, fellows, and site director for the fellowship.
• Coordinate with academic affiliates and external leadership.
• Plan educational programs for staff, patients, families, and trainees.
