Veterans Health Administration in the United States seeks a Section Chief for Hospice and Palliative Care within the Western New York VA Health Care System. You will oversee staffing, care delivery, and service criteria for the palliative program.

The role includes supervising inpatient consults, outpatient clinics, and coordinating with academics; leadership of quality initiatives; and mentoring trainees while reporting to the Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care.

Formación

• Must meet basic medical licensure requirements in the United States and be eligible to practice in a VA facility.
• Residency training must be approved by ACGME/AOA or equivalent with board certification or eligibility.
• Board certification may be required for certain roles or faculty status per VA policy.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide hospice and palliative care services across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead and supervise clinical staff, fellows, and residents within the service.
• Oversee program development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as attending physician for inpatient consultations and end-of-life care.
• Coordinate with academic affiliates and site directors for fellowship programs.
• Mentor new team members and drive educational programs for staff and trainees.
