Applicants must meet the education and/or experience requirements below. Experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer work through programs like Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and other organizations. All qualifying experience should be clearly described in your resume; transcripts are required if qualifying through education.
One year of experience in using office automation software to develop correspondence, managing customer inquiries, and maintaining office files. This experience is typical of work at the GS-04 level.
Four years of education above high school level from an accredited institution.
A combination where the total percentage of requirements is at least 100%, calculated by dividing total months of experience by 12 and semester hours beyond two years by 60, then adding the percentages.
One year of experience maintaining calendars and schedules, managing records, and compiling data for technical reports, typical of the GS-05 level.
Note: Education cannot substitute experience at this grade.
A qualified typist capable of typing 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors. A typing test may be administered to verify proficiency. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be considered ineligible.
