Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Secret Cleared software engineer to support an onsite team in San Diego, CA with the maintenance, security, and configuration of Windows and Linux environments.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading system software and firmware, developing automation scripts for patch deployments, supporting software testing and validation efforts, and managing software version control and configuration management processes.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Experience administering Windows and/or Linux systems.
• Experience with DISA STIGs, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• National Incident Management System (NIMS) Framework
• Experience with software version control and issue tracking tools
• Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
• Experience developing scripts in PowerShell, Bash and/or Python for admin tasks
• Experience supporting software testing, validation, and documentation efforts
• Ability to support configuration management, software change control, and troubleshooting activities

Insight Global is seeking a Secret Cleared software engineer to support to support a fully onsite team in San Diego, CA with the maintenance, security, and configuration of Windows and Linux environments. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading system software and firmware, developing automation scripts for patch deployments, supporting software testing and validation efforts, and managing software version control and configuration management processes. The role will also focus heavily on cybersecurity compliance, including implementing security patches, performing vulnerability remediation, supporting DISA STIG compliance, conducting system hardening activities, and assisting with C&A documentation and risk assessments. This person will have experience using the National Incident Management System Framework in a professional setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working on tactical shipboard systems and working hands on in a CANES environment.
