Job summary

SOSi is seeking Papiamento, Filipino/Tagalog, and other language linguists to support translation, transcription, and interpretation for government customers in Fairfax, VA. The role requires handling intercepts, producing English summaries, and maintaining accurate logs.

On-site work with flexible shift coverage may be required. Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of combined education/experience, pass a language assessment, and maintain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and work experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
• Candidate must pass a language assessment in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Excellent command of English and clear, concise communications.
• Minimum 40 wpm typing/word processing skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and translate/interprit intercepts across shifts as assigned.
• Provide immediate oral summaries in English, then write English summaries.
• Operate required equipment such as recording/playback and T2S2 systems.
• Prepare concise English synopses with date/time and context.
• Identify conversants using voice libraries or context.
