Job summary

SOSi in Bedford, NH is seeking a Spanish Analytic Linguist to support our federal law enforcement customer. The role involves live monitoring, translation, transcription, and interpretation for investigations, with shifts that may include nights and weekends.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work, have a high school diploma, at least one year of translation experience, and be able to obtain a government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with legal work status.
• Minimum of one year translation experience in the required language.
• Demonstrated proficiency in English and target language via testing.
• Willing to obtain language proficiency certification.
• Familiarity with intercept systems is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with law enforcement personnel.
• Ability to type at least 40 WPM.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor live communications and provide immediate verbal summaries and written English summaries.
• Transcribe audio/video and written communications to English.
• Interpret consecutively or simultaneously as required.
• Validate translations and summarize for accuracy.
• Provide reliable summaries of intercepted communications to law enforcement.
• Attend Title III briefings before investigations begin.
• Assist in preparing evidence and summaries for trials.
• Serve as a fact witness when subpoenaed.
• Maintain communication with the program manager regarding shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
