Job summary

JANUS Research Group in Newport News, VA, is seeking a Model & Simulation Specialist with an active Secret clearance to support the Army Wargaming Branch and the Future Warfare Division.

The role involves configuring wargame software, managing distributed simulations, data and hardware, and ensuring accurate scenario data for Exercise instantiation and After Action Reviews. Travel 10–15 days/year is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Four years of experience planning, integrating and executing distributed multi-site simulation.
• Experience with Army Joint or hobby wargaming.
• Experience with senior leaders (GO/FO/SES) preferred.
• Experience in Joint and Army Command HQs preferred.
• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME support to Army Wargaming Branch during design and execution of the Future Study Program.
• Support all aspects of wargame event execution as a Model & Simulation Specialist.
• Ensure correct configuration of wargame software, data, simulations, simulators, servers and tools.
• Ensure scenario data and unit-entity properties, system performance and locations are accurate at exercise start.
• Interface with external participants and manage distributed simulation events, including hardware, software and data changes and checkpoint operations.
• Capture and archive simulation event data to support AAR and report generation.
