Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will lead end-to-end engineering across the program lifecycle for EOIR/RFEW systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance.

The role requires advanced STEM degrees and a Secret clearance, with on-site work at Rolling Meadows and 10% travel. Strong leadership, risk management, and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics or other STEM field with related experience.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a defense contractor environment (EMD/LRIP).
• Experience with hardware, software and firmware; EVM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution across the full program lifecycle from capture to delivery.
• Drive cost, schedule, and technical performance with disciplined execution.
• Coordinate across engineering functions and partner organizations to align scope and staffing.
• Use program metrics and performance indicators to enable data-informed decisions.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes and rigor throughout the program.
• Collaborate with Program Managers and Chief Engineers on technical scope and execution plans.
• Identify and mitigate risks early; drive milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
